Cloud Computing Technology | Cloud Computing & How Does 'The Cloud' Work?

Cloud computing is the on-demand of computer system resources, especially data storage and computing power. This is  without direct active management by the user. The term is used to describe data centers to many users over the Internet. Today Large clouds, predominant, often have functions distributed over multiple locations from central servers. Relatively close connection to the user, it may be designated an edge server.

Cloud computing History:

1977, The cloud symbol used to represent networks of computing equipment in the original ARPANET, and 1981 the CSNET — both predecessors to the Internet itself. The word cloud was used as a metaphor for the Internet . a standardized cloud-like shape was used to denote a network on telephony schematics. The implication is that the specifics of how the end points of a network are connected are not relevant for the purposes of understanding the diagram.

Cloud computing is a subject of research. A driving factor in the evolution of cloud computing has been chief technology officers seeking to minimize risk of internal outages and mitigate the complexity of housing network and computing hardware in-house.
