The Department of Contemporary and Tribal Customary Law, Central University of Jharkhand offered Applications are invited for admission to the following courses. 

Tribal Law and Governance (M.A)

Total Seats: Sixteen (16)

Eligibility: Bachelor degree in any discipline with 50% marks (45 % for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/Divyang applicants).
Reservation: OBC-NCL : 27 %, SC : 15%, ST : 7.5%, Divyang : 4% (horizontal),
Economically Weaker Section: 10%
Course Duration: 4 semesters

Tribal & Customary Law / Human Rights (LL.M.)

Total Seats: Thirty One (31)
Eligibility: LL.B. degree with 50% marks (45 % for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/Divyang applicants).
Reservation: OBC-NCL : 27 %, SC : 15%, ST : 7.5%, Divyang : 4% (horizontal),
Economically Weaker Section: 10%
Course Duration: 4 semesters

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Seats: Three (03)
Eligibility: Master degree in Law / Anthropology / Sociology / Public Administration / Human Rights / Social Work or any other related discipline with 55% marks. (50 % for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/Divyang applicants).
Research Area: Domains pertaining to Human Rights / Law / Governance / Socio-Cultural realms concerning Tribals.
  • UGC-JRF / RGNF / MANF / ICMR qualified/selected candidates shall be eligible for receiving Rs. 25,000/- per month (as fellowship) + Annual Contingency of Rs. 10,000/- + HRA as per norms (likely to be revised soon).


All others admitted students: University Fellowship – Rs. 8000/- per month + Annual Contingency.
