GATE 2019: Registration Begin, Application Form, Exam Date, Syllabus


Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an examination conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.

GATE 2019 Registration has been started now. The application form is available from 1st September. This year, the exam is managed by the IIT, Madras. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national level examination. It is conducted to offer admission into M.Tech/M.Sc in engineering/ technology/ architecture and P.hD in relevant branches of science. Through this article, candidates can get complete information about GATE 2019 including application submission, eligibility, exam centers, pattern, marks/score, answer keys, result, scorecard, etc.

GATE 2019:

GATE 2019 will be conducted for 24 subjects (also referred to as “papers”) and it would be distributed over 2nd, 3rd, 9th & 10th of February 2019.
The GATE examination centres are spread in different cities across India, as well as, in six cities outside India. The examination would be purely a Computer Based Test (CBT).
The GATE score would reflect the relative performance level of the candidate in a particular subject, which is quantified based on the several years of examination data. Note that the GATE 2019 score is valid for THREE YEARS from the date of announcement of the results.

 GATE 2019 Eligibility:

There are some conditions that the candidates will be required to meet for GATE eligibility. The eligibility criteria of GATE 2019 which has to be satisfied by the candidates has been listed below:
  • Age Limit – There is no age limit for GATE applicants.
  • Nationality – The candidates should be of Indian nationality. Candidates belonging to Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Ethiopia and United Arab Emirates will also be eligible for GATE 2019.
  • Educational Requirement – All of the candidates should have completed or be in their final year of Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech) or Post-Graduate (M.Sc) degree in any relevant science subject.
  • Pass Percentage – There is no minimum pass percentage in the qualifying degree while applying for GATE 2019.  

GATE 2019 What's new Things? 

  • A new paper "Statistics" with a code of "ST" has been introduced for GATE 2019.
  • Candidates can apply online after the last date for an extended period on payment of a late fee. The late fee is Rs 500 if candidates apply after September 21 and October 1, 2018. For candidates appearing for the exam at foreign centers will have to pay a late fee of 20 USD.
